I am Ryotaro Kainuma, the head coach of the Keio University Karate Club. In 2024, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of our club's founding. This history has been built through the tireless efforts and passion of our predecessors, as well as the support of many people. With this weight in mind, we have already begun our challenge for the next 100 years.

My mission is to help students grow independently and maximize their individual potential. As the oldest karate club in Japanese universities, our goal is to build a group that can be proud of on both the Japanese and global stages.

Specifically, we aim for national dominance and global challenges, accumulating results through daily training and matches. We are also committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders and continuing to be a group that is supported by many people. These three pillars form the foundation of our daily operations and training.

Karate is not only a competitive sport but also a martial art that cultivates and nurtures people. Even as society and values continue to change, our mission and reason for existence lie in not only improving athletic performance but also consistently producing individuals with character, leadership, and an international perspective.

Going forward, we aim to be a club that upholds tradition while embracing new challenges, sharing joy and inspiration. We will continue to promote the charm and value of student karate from Japan to the world, striving for sustainable development that extends into the future. We sincerely request your continued understanding and warm support.
